Stable ROM supporting access to Android market/Google play

    Dear Friends,

My Adam was bought with 1000% Enthusiasm(Wa Proud that an Indian developed it) , but after a Month I bought it the Enthusiasm levels had gone down to -1000%. I did not just used it some months not even for browsing as it was just hopeless.I had spent 450 Euro including the Customs.:-((
Now I decided at any cost I need to access the market which otherwise makes no sense to have android platform.

Please let me know the best ROM with market access and also the tablet ROM link hot to install it.
I do not care whether it is ICS or Honeycomb or Gingerbread. I have now Android 2.2.

I would say please please please..I am almost exhausted working with Adam..I need your help to come out of this and enjoy the Adam as many do.

    Thank you.

    Hi Aravind,

Well, I know the difficulty that the Notion Ink people would have to suggest a ROM which they haven't "officially" released. I had been using my Adam with the stock ROM for some time and I know it can be quite a pain to do anything without Market access.

I've tried all the ROMs for fun sake, but have always found myself going back to Beast 2.2.1. Its based on Froyo, so you might not have all the bells and whistles of Honeycomb or ICS, but everything works. And I mean everything, camera, sound, wifi, everything. A close second would be EdenX..... it gives that safe familiarity with the stock ROM, but is not as limiting.

After a while, I stopped playing around with ROMs and focused on putting my Adam to proper use, like an iPad or Xoom or Samsung Tab. I'll say I'm not too disappointed with the way the Adam supplements my day as an auxiliary portable computing device. Yes, some more proactive development from the company would have been good, but there's not much I can't do myself and hence I am not complaining.

So in conclusion, you'd be good to setup the Beast ROM on your Adam and focus on getting the Adam functional to your requirements. Hope this helps.

Thank you Michelle and Navin for your support.

thank you very much for your valuable info.
I concluded on Beast ROM after a lot of search and reading reviews on net.
But I do not find the download links active for the Beast ROM.

Can anyone help me to get the active links of it.

    Thanks in advance.

I just wanted to take the opportunity to post a positive comment about Notion Ink

I have had my Adam for around a year and unlike many on this forum I use it mainly for work so need to be able to view .pdf, edit and view .doc and .xls and view power point.

I also use it for e-books, email, my google calender, surfing the web and watching the BBC on-line and iPlayer.

I had a recent problem with Adamcomb and was unable to add a goggle account, Jim in tech support responded promptly and emailed me detailed instruction for upgrading to ICS with Google play. I now have a tablet that exceeds my needs. The camera and mic are are not that important to me but once they are working as well then I can have no complaints.

Thanks to Jim in Notion Ink support

    Colin

Aravind: I found the following link online for Beast 2.2.1 - haven't tried it myself, yet. But, if I do so in the near future, will let you know my findings. In the meantime, feel free to update the thread with your findings on the same.
